150 Charles

1 150 Charles Street Hero1 Gallery Small1

This condominium in the West Village features a total of 91 different residences. With a view that overlooks the Hudson River and Hudson River Park, as well as a private 33,000 square foot green area, 150 Charles is ideal for anyone who wants to make the most of downtown living.

History

Steven C. Witkoff, Rick Cook and Alan Wanzenberg are the three visionaries behind this ambitious project. In his role as CEO of The Witkoff Group, Steven C. Witkoff has developed & redeveloped over $7 billion worth of properties in both the US and Europe.

When The Witkoff Group selected CookFox Architects for this project, Rick Cook knew that he wanted to focus on the way the building would interact with people and its natural environment. Alan Wanzenberg Design also brought an approach to the building’s interior design that was focused on craftsmanship and showcasing individual materials.

Architecture

When asked about his approach to the architecture of 150 Charles, Rick Cook said “we knew that we needed to create a building that met the street wall, that kept the texture and human scale of the neighborhood. We knew that we wanted this building to make for the perfect street space on a perfect west village street.”

The impact of this approach is evident, with beautiful brick surrounding large windows, which are elegantly illuminated with multiple hues at night. And when residents or guests walk inside the building, they are greeted by a lobby that has 24-foot high ceilings, thick panels of American Walnut and a grand fireplace.

Residences

The detail put into the building’s exterior and lobby extends into the individual residences. The living spaces make great use of natural light and provide incredible views, while the elegant woodwork provides sophisticated living that’s still functional and comfortable.

“Humble but luxurious materials” is the term interior designer Alan Wanzenberg used to describe his selection for the kitchens and bathrooms of 150 Charles. Both spaces feature lots of rich wood and grained white marble. The look is completed by exquisite metal detailing.

Amenities

150 Charles offers its residents a 24-hour concierge, doorman, porter, fitness center, 75-foot indoor lap pool, plunge pool, spa room, hot tub, juice bar, entertainment lounge, and a private outdoor courtyard. Residents can also take advantage of storage units, private parking garage, and secured bike storage.

Availability

The only bad thing about this building is due to the fact that it has so much to offer, at the time of writing this article there currently aren’t any residences available. In fact, buyers got so excited when the details for 150 Charles were revealed that nearly half of the units were under contract within a month. Those units ranged from a $4.2M two-bedroom to a $34M five-bedroom penthouse.

Neighborhood

Located in the West Village, 150 Charles directly overlooks the expanse of Waterfront and Hudson River Park. This provides residents with a beautiful skyline view that’s truly unique. Residents can also enjoy all of the great shopping, restaurants, and nightlife that the West Village has to offer.
