Located in Greenwich Village, the development of 17 East 12th Street is well underway. Previously the site of a parking garage, the finished building will have 11 stories that span a total of 137 feet. It will contain 48,583 square feet, of which 4,541 on the ground floor will be dedicated to commercial use.
Because the building will only contain 9 condos, residents will get to enjoy very spacious living conditions with an average of 4,500 square feet per unit. Thanks to the thoughtful design of this building, it will be a very beneficial addition to the Village.
The site where 17 East 12th Street is being built was purchased in August of 2013 for $50.2 million. Rigby Asset Management is the developer behind 17 East 12th Street. The building’s exterior was designed by Bromley/Caldari Architects, and its interiors were designed by Richard Mishaan.
The exterior of this building is being built with London stock brick. It’s the first time this type of brick has ever been used in New York. Combined with large windows, the lighter color of this brick creates a look that’s unique but also a great fit with the rest of the neighborhood.
When residents enter the building through the lobby, they’ll be greeted by an attendant, as well as signature elements that include French limestone floors, an Italian espresso leather concierge desk and French polished mahogany wall paneling.
The unit’s living spaces feature tall ceilings and real wood floors. In the kitchen, the latest technology is combined with beautiful design choices like white Corian countertops. Elements found in the cutting-edge kitchens include dual dishwashers, a speed oven, wall oven and espresso machine.
Near the kitchen is a butler’s pantry that has Poliform Varenna glacier white shelving, as well as Sub-Zero wine storage that goes all the way from floor to ceiling.
Then in the master bathroom, over 1,000 square feet of space is illuminated by plenty of natural light from the windows. This space includes a steam shower, electric towel racks, heated floors and a soaking tub.
Arguably, the most compelling amenity of 17 East 12th Street is that every resident gets their own dedicated parking space in the building’s automated parking garage.
There are currently three units available at 17 East 12th Street. The first is a 4 bedroom with 5 bathrooms and 4,514 square feet of total space. This unit also include 1,279 square feet of outdoor space. The unit has an asking price of $14.25M.
The second available unit has the same layout and amount of indoor space, but it doesn’t include any outdoor space. It’s listed for $16M. The last available unit is the second penthouse. It has 5 bedrooms, 6.5 bathrooms and 4,743 square. It includes 1,189 square feet of outdoor space, and has an asking price of $25M.
Corkbuzz Wine Studio, Japonica, Gotham Bar & Grill, and Cinema Village are just a few Greenwich Village highlights that residents will be just steps away from.
