Thanks to a partnership that was led by Madison Equities, the landmark skyscraper 212 Fifth Avenue has been reborn as a 48 home residential masterpiece.

It’s hard to imagine that just 200 years ago, the landscape of Fifth Avenue was defined by wide dirt streets and cattle grazing. However, this area rapidly transformed into a location that was known around the world for its power and status. The Fifth Avenue Hotel, Madison Square Park and Delmonico’s are a few of the key sites that shaped this area.
In 1912, Schwartz and Gross were commissioned by developers Johnson-Kahn to design a new commercial business building. The stunning result was one of the first skyscrapers in the city of New York. Fast forward to the present, and this New York landmark has been reestablished by the vision of today’s innovators.

212 Fifth Avenue was designed in a Neo-Medieval style. This choice gave the building a very appealing dramatic flair. Standing 24 stories tall, the building’s steel frame provides all the necessary support for high ceilings and incredible exterior views. The restoration of the building was handled by Helpern Architects, while Pembrooke & Ives are the team behind the building’s stunning interiors. The literal crown jewel of the building’s restoration is the incredible crenellated parapet at the very top.

The building’s lobby has an ornate design that was inspired by early 20th century jewelry boxes. Residences in 212 Fifth Avenue have stunning foyers with exquisite marble. Inside each home, Pembrooke & Ives expertly designed living spaces that are a true ode to scale. Solid hardwood floors run throughout these areas. Moving to the kitchen, a large 12″x4″ Calacatta Gold marble island defines this pristine space. In the master bathroom, fluted marble walls and Thassos stone floors create an environment dedicated to tranquility and indulgence. Secondary bathrooms are wonderfully accented with grey wall tiles and the powder room features large slabs of grey travertine.
