History

Before its development, the lot where this building now sits was empty. This allowed the development, architectural and design team behind the 27 Wooster to create something from scratch. While the team wanted to put their stamp on the building, they also made it a priority to respect the landmarked surroundings.

27 Wooster was developed by Axel Stawski and Anthony Leichter. Both members of this development partnership have over five decades of real estate experience. For the design of the exterior, Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates (KPF) was chosen thanks to their expertise creating progressive projects.

Architecture

When you look at 27 Wooster, it’s immediately evident that the building speaks the elegant design language of the Cast Iron District. But at the same time, it’s tempered with understated modernism. This makes it possible for the building to simultaneously stand out and blend in. One very compelling feature is not only are all the full windows length, but residents can fully open them to the outside.

Residences

 When you enter a residence at 27 Wooster, you’re immediately greeted with honest and tactile materials. Thomas Juul-Hansen chose these materials to create a sense of elegant simplicity that will age gracefully over time. The main flooring consists of wide planks of white oak.

In the kitchen, residents can enjoy marble countertops, a Miele dishwasher, and Sub-Zero refrigerator. A marble backsplash and kitchen island can also be found in some of the units. The kitchen is brought to life thanks to a large window that bathes the space in natural light.

While there are several different bathroom designs throughout the buildings 15 apartments, the majority feature marble slabs and bleached zebrawood cabinetry. In the bathroom and the rest of each residence, comfort is always maximized thanks to expandable smart-home technology that controls the HVAC, lighting and window treatments.

Amenities

27 Wooster has a 24-hour attended lobby with cold storage for deliveries. The building has a fitness room, bicycle storeroom, and space available for parking. There is also direct key-locked elevator access.

Availability

There are currently three available residences in 27 Wooster. The first is a 6,700 square foot penthouse with five bedrooms. It’s listed for $28.5M. The second is a three bedroom with 2,500 square feet that’s listed for $6.55M. And the third is also a three bedroom with 2,425 square feet of space and a list price of $6.35M.
