Standing nearly 780 feet tall, the views provided by the curved glass windows at 50 West Street will be absolutely breathtaking. Ellis Island, the Statue of Liberty, the Hudson River, the East River and New York Harbor will all be visible from within the building.
With 191 condos spread out over 64-stories, 50 West Street is going to have a lot to offer to both individuals and families. Although it’s still going to be a couple of years before this building is ready for move-ins, given all the plans for it, expect units to be snapped up quickly whenever they hit the market.

Developer Francis Greenburger of Time Equities has actually owned the land where 50 West Street is being built since 1983. Once he decided the time was right for development, he chose Helmet Jahn as the building’s architect, and Thomas Juul-Hansen for the building’s interiors.

Helmet Jahn has designed the building as an incredible modern steel and glass structure. Not only will it be a fixture of the New York skyline, but the use of large curved windows means residents will get to enjoy incredible views every single day.

Thomas Juul-Hansen is using a variety of natural materials for the building’s condos. By focusing on neutral colors, subtle fixtures and minimal patterns, he’s creating spaces that are timeless and classic.
While there will be several different layouts, all residences will have large kitchen spaces, as well as bedrooms with generous closet space and en suite bathrooms.

Four of the building’s floors will be devoted to amenities. The first of those amenities is The Water Club, which will provide a beautiful space for residents to swim in a pool, relax in a hot tub, unwind in the sauna, or participate in organized activities available to both children and adults.
In the building’s fitness center, residents will have lots of options for both cardio and resistance exercises. There’s also going to be a lounge where residents can meet a friend, use their laptop or simply relax with a book.
While many buildings offer outdoor spaces to residents, few can match what 50 West has in store for “The Observatory.” Planned for the 64th floor, this outdoor entertaining space will provide absolutely breathtaking views of all the sights that New York has to offer.
The other amenity that makes 50 West quite unique is it’s going to feature 15 office condominiums. This floor will also include a shared conference room, pantry and dedicated office elevator.

Since development on 50 West is expected to take until 2016 to complete, pricing details haven’t been released. However, several sources estimate that units inside the building will hit the market for around $1,900 per square foot.

Lower Manhattan is billed as “the city’s oldest and most innovative neighborhood.” This area boasts over 600 tech companies, prestigious media operations, NYC’s fastest growing school zone and transportation options to just about anywhere you may want to go. Battery Park jogging and bike paths are across the road from the building, as well as lots of historical landmarks, museums, restaurants and great shopping.
