6 NYC Buildings with Celebrity Tenants

Catching a glimpse of a celebrity is a dream come true for many people, but what if you could live next door to your Hollywood idol? That dream isn’t necessarily impossible. With almost one-third of celebrities in New York City living in downtown Manhattan, you have to move into the right apartment building. Check out these six buildings with celebrity tenants.

195 Hudson Street

Who wouldn’t want to live in the same building as Jay-Z, Beyoncé, and Bethenny Frankel? If you can grab a condo in the building on 195 Hudson Street in the Tribeca neighborhood, you’d be living close to these celebrities. However, you can count on the condo costing you. An apartment in the building recently went up for sale at a value of nearly $3 million. Jay-Z and Beyoncé reportedly bought their apartment in the same building for $6.85 million.

176 Perry Street

Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban make their New York City home in the 176 Perry Street building. Kidman reportedly bought the condo for $8 million back in 2003, and in 2010, Luxist.com reported that the couple was putting their apartment up for rent and wanted a whopping $45,000 per month for it. But this isn’t the only couple with real estate in this building. Calvin Klein reportedly owns a penthouse duplex, and Hugh Jackman bought one apartment for $21 million in 2008.

92 Laight Street

Another set of celebrities in the Tribeca neighborhood make their home at 92 Laight Street. Gwyneth Paltrow and husband Chris Martin shared beautiful pictures of their 4,400 square-foot home in 2010. But they’re not the only celebrities in the building. Meryl Streep also lives in one of these stunning condos.

345 West 13th Street

Will Ferrell bought his 345 West 13th Street home back in 2010 for $4.2 million. Designer Shawn Henderson remodeled the 2,699-square-foot pad, and Architectural Digest published photos of the renovations. Needless to say, the place has more taste than when it was on the rental market, and you might be able to snag a neighboring spot to the comedian’s condo if you head to the right building.

90 Franklin Street

The Franklin Tower at 90 Franklin Street has housed Mariah Carey since 2001. She purchased her condo for $9 million at the time. The 18-story building offers a range of amenities to make a living there an exciting experience, and not just because you’d be pop-star Carey’s neighbor. This apartment complex is luxurious with a doorman and concierge services, featuring a washer and dryer in each apartment, several full-floor apartments, and stainless steel kitchens.

339 West 12th Street

Daniel Radcliffe reportedly picked up a $5.65 million condo in the West Village back in 2009. The home features a modern touch with exceptional amenities for a New York City condo, such as a garden and a fireplace, offering a cozy ambiance.

While you’ll have to save up a few million dollars to become neighbors with one of these celebrities, it’s not such a far-fetched idea to live near some of the most well-known people in the US.
