History

In April of 2013, Glenwood Management bought two adjacent properties for a total of $31 million. To bring this project to fruition, Glenwood enlisted the expertise of Thomas Juul-Hansen, the Stephen P. Jacobs Group, Corcoran Sunshine Marketing Group, and Brdar.

Thomas Juul-Hansen is the architect behind the design of 60 East 86th Street. He has clad this 19 story tower in a fluted Renaissance grey limestone façade. The building’s facade is accented by Juliet balconies, as well as oversized casement windows.

Because Juul-Hansen is known for his love of light and Scandinavian aesthetic, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that the interior is based around open spaces and grand proportions. Notable traits of the interior also include rich natural materials, highly crafted finishes, and a pure color palette.

Upon entering 60 East 86th Street, residents and guests are surrounded by a lobby that’s designed to create a sense of quiet luxury. The entry area of the building also features a library with a hand-crafted bronze screen and wood bookcases.
