Over four years ago, an investment firm based in Rome purchased three cast-iron buildings in Tribeca. Last year, they received permission from the Landmarks Preservation Commission to begin renovations. Since then, Veronica Mainetti and the Sorgente Group have converted two of these historic buildings into loft apartments. 60 White Street now features eight very impressive condos.
60 White Street has a history that dates all the way back to 1869. Because the building’s current developers wanted to honor this history, they chose to restore and reclaim 80% of the building’s current materials. The remainder of the finishes were locally sourced. Those additions included 300-year-old reclaimed oak and Danby marble.
Because 60 White Street was originally constructed during America’s gilded age, the building’s architecture is defined by classical styling. Cast iron facades and other ornamental details combine to create a look that is truly majestic. The kitchen features a Wolf browning oven and a Wolf steam oven. Those high-end appliances are complemented by a marble countertop and backsplash. The bedrooms feature a modern style that’s very soothing, while the marble-clad bathrooms create a luxurious oasis of relaxation.
The living rooms inside the residences at 60 White Street are defined by tall ceilings and exposed brick walls. The floors are all made from wood that’s either reclaimed or sustainable. Thanks to large and virtually airtight windows that maximize energy efficiency, these features are properly highlighted by lots of natural light.
The building features a video doorman system, secured package room and the ability to have additional storage space. The lobby has a Green Wall that provides natural air filtration throughout the common areas. There’s a private club lounge with a full bar and video projector, as well as an on-site fitness center that features all of the latest exercise equipment.
There are currently three official listings for 60 White Street. The first is a 2 bedroom and 2 bathroom condo with 1,943 square feet of space. This unit is listed for $4.68M. The second listing is also a 2 bedroom and 2 bathroom unit. Featuring 1,962 square feet of space, it’s listed at $4.585M. The last listing for 60 White Street is the East Penthouse. This luxurious unit features 3,078 square feet of interior space and 727 square feet of outdoor space. With 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, it’s listed for $9.625M.
60 White Street is located in Tribeca. Because Tribeca features an eclectic mix of colorful history and high-end offerings, it has become one of the most desirable neighborhoods in all of New York. The neighborhood’s culture is on display at places like Apexart Gallery, which is located right next to 60 White Street. Other popular destinations that are just blocks away from the building include Anotheroom, Racines and Tribeca Treats.
