7 New Developments You Need to Know About

With so many new developments happening throughout New York City, it can be hard to keep up with what’s going on. If you’re wondering which developments you should keep your eye on, here’s a rundown of the seven hottest sites in the city:

45 East 22nd Street

This tapering glass tower will stand 64 stories tall. It’s going to have a variety of one to four-bedroom floor plans throughout the 83 units and several floors dedicated exclusively to amenities.

Soori High Line – West 29th Street

Early renderings of this 27-unit development show a very Asian-inspired design. Two of the most unique features of this building are its sleek black exterior as well as private heated swimming pools. Yes, the individual units in this building will have their swimming pools!

The Woolworth Tower

If you want to live somewhere with historical value, one of the 40 luxury condos at the top of the Woolworth Building may be right up your alley. This development is getting a lot of attention because of the building’s rich history, but it’s also going to have the priciest penthouse in downtown history, with a list price of $110 million.

53 West 53rd

If this address sounds familiar, development was delayed for several years after the economy took a turn for the worse. However, in October of last year, it was announced that the development had secured a total of $1 billion in financing.

Thanks to that significant infusion, progress on the 1,050-foot tall building are underway. Designed by Jean Nouvel, 53 West 53rd will feature a striking exterior and gorgeous interior.

17 East 12th Street

In addition to an attended lobby that features French limestone and mahogany, 17 East 12th Street also has an automated garage with a private parking space for every resident. The kitchens will feature high-end appliances, including a speed oven and espresso machine, while the master bathrooms will have a relaxing walk-in steam shower.

520 West 28th Street

Zaha Hadid, the first female architect to win the coveted Pritzker Prize, is making a splash with her first New York City project. With a swooping spaceship design, 520 West 28th Street is projected to have 40 units. Although details are still scarce, some pricing information has been released online.

So far, prices range from $4.595M for a two bedroom with 2.5 bathrooms up to $35M for a five bedroom duplex with 6.5 bathrooms and a total of 6,391 square feet of space.

Nolita Condos – 152 Elizabeth Street

Zaha Hadid isn’t the only world-renowned architect taking on a project in New York City for the first time. Tadao Ando, who won the Pritzker Prize in 1995, is using his signature combination of glass, concrete, and steel to create the building that will house eight extremely luxurious apartments, which will range in size from 1,900 to over 5,000 square feet.
