Located at 318 West 52nd Street, The Sorting House is a new condominium with a very unique story and design. The building stands a total of five stories tall, with thirty homes spread out over the top three stories.

Although The Sorting House is a new-construction condominium, it actually has a history that dates back to 1926. One of the features that makes this building a truly unique place to call home is the 3 stories of residences are constructed on top of a post office that was built all the way back in 1926. That heritage inspired the building’s name, as well as much of its design.

The building’s heritage and the desire to provide a flexible lifestyle were the two key drivers of The Sorting House’s design. The building’s exterior is defined by an appealing mix of preserved red brick, mullioned windows and brickwork casement windows. The building’s new residential entry was expertly designed to tie all of the other elements together.

Of all the top notch features of the residences in The Sorting House, the element that stands out the most is the gliding walls which allow residents to configure their living spaces however they want. These walls feature the highest quality of craftsmanship, and can easily be pulled out or recessed back into a pocket.

Throughout The Sorting House’s residences, design is dictated by refined minimalism. Natural materials, elegant finishes and clean lines flow from one space to another. Kitchens are equipped with Miele appliances and Watermark faucets, while bathrooms are defined by beautiful limestone tile and slabs.

The Sorting House has both a doorman and virtual doorman for its residents. There’s a bike room and additional storage available. The building also has a brand-new gym that provides everything needed for a great workout.

In addition to one, two and three bedroom homes, The Sorting House also has open loft and duplex layouts. Due to the high demand for this building, only a handful of residences are currently available:

    • Open loft with 1 bathroom, spanning 605 square feet for $895,000
    • 1-bedroom with 1 bathroom, spanning 896 square feet for $1.295M
    • 1-bedroom with 2 bathrooms, spanning 1,074 square feet for $1.695M
    • 2-bedroom with 2.5 bathrooms, spanning 1,317 square feet for $2.15M
    • 3-bedroom with 2.5 bathrooms, spanning 1,409 square feet for $2.625M
    • Duplex with 2 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms, spanning 1,284 square feet for $2.25M

*With the exception of the open loft, all of the other available residences feature an exterior roof patio or terrace ranging in size from 228 square feet to 593 square feet.

With its location in Hell’s Kitchen, The Sorting House provides access to an incredible amount of cultural diversity. An added bonus of The Sorting House’s location is it puts residents in very close proximity to both Central Park and Midtown. Those areas offer a nearly endless amount of options for dining, entertainment and shopping.
